What I've Learned
Throughout this blog I have spent many hours researching and practicing new techniques for fishing. I have gone over fishing spots near me, and how to find them, different baits people use and why, different fish species available near me, different types or gear you can use, and a few different disciplines of freshwater fishing like trolling and river fishing. I am not an expert fisherman by any means, in fact I am quite the opposite. However since starting this blog I have learned what gear to use and why, allowing me to check some new fish species off my bucket list.

I have had the privilege to fish multiple places, in widely varying conditions. From icy alpine creeks, to small warm water ponds. I have caught a couple big fish and a lot of small ones, but I have enjoyed every time I have gone fishing even more than the last. I have learned a lot about the hobby, but also learned what it means to me. It allows me to spend hours in some of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I also enjoy catching different species and seeing what they look like in person.
As a broke college student the idea of an activity that is relatively cheap to enjoy, and has the potential to feed me is too good to pass up. I have created a lifelong hobby for myself and it is my hope that anyone else who is learning to fish follows suit, and finds out what they love about fishing. My favorite part of fishing is just being by a body of water in nature, and adding the excitement of catching fascinating and complex animals. Although I have outlined a lot of complicated gear and intricate techniques, at the end of the day all you need is a rod, license and a good attitude to have fun.
